Today was one of those days where you just had to work for it! Clients brought bananas on the boat. I’ll forgive them because they were a super fun group. For those that don’t know bananas are bad luck on a boat. Most people say it’s superstition but my best friend’s dad proved to me it was true a long time ago. Everything bad that could happened did. Fish were finicky and keepers were hard to find. They had a great time and that’s all that really matters.

My table wasn’t big enough today. We cleared well over a 4 man limit if White Bass, then ran an grabbed a limit of Channels. The pics don’t fo this table justice. Most of the white bass are 12”. Insane morning for this time of the year. We definitely made the most of it.

Had a solid weekend if fishing despite weather complications. The summer patterns are starting to set in. Nick, Lloyd, Alec and Mario joined me for a home run of a day on Saturday. Love these dudes.

Had a fun morning helping 2 fine young anglers expand their fishing knowledge. We did a mixed species catch and release trip and caught fish everywhere we went.

Despite the decline in crappie population we were able to pull out a few keepers quickly. White Bass were still on fire and catfish delivered us a few nicer fish. Fishing is still on fire. Limits are still easy for multiple species.

Had Skippy Sparkles and The Daves out again for more white bass action. The weird weather slowed us down a little but we still got our limits before switching over to channels.

Skip and the Davids joined us again for a windy day on Lavon. Love these guys! The wind ruined our plans and set us back but we came back swinging and cleaned up on some white bass. Solid day of fishing despite the cold and rain.

Carmen came out with me today for her 4th time with us! We did it up in style.

We had a limit of white bass by 9, then moved over to channel catfish. We were on our way to a limit of them too but but the wind picked up and they slowed down. We ended up with 15 of them.

One for the books today! I took a crew of three out on Lake Lavon this spring morning for an early start, and the clearing afternoon weather made for perfect conditions. Deadsticking is officially on at Lake Lavon. We started the day targeting channel cats, then blues, but with both being finicky, we pivoted to white bass. That move paid off—they were on fire.

Had an amazing group out Saturday for what would end up being one if the more difficult trips of the year to get fish. What started out as a catfish combo trip quickly turned into a livescope class with young Beau here quickly becoming a master. We had no problem finding fish, but they were so turned off eating wise that we had to literally put our lures next to their mouth and tease them to get a response. Fortunately Beau was a trooper and quickly became proficient in live scoping catfish! The rapid decrease in water temperature mixed with the post front conditions seemed to have had a serious short term affect on the fishes feeding patterns, this will smooth out quickly and the fish are likely already settling into the change as we speak.

Hit Lavon for catfish today and slammed the channels again. Caught 50 quickly then moved over to blues. Overall great weather and great day.

Had Mark, Marcus, and Rory out today for catfish. We hammered the Channel Catfish, putting 50 in the boat in 2 hours, then moved to Blues. The Blues didn't cooperate today, but the amazing weather made it all worth it. The boat ramps have huge shade basically all day currently. perfect bait for catfishing.
